Microscopic particles in the fuel, as small as 2-3 microns, can cause abrasive wear, severely damaging the fuel injection system and other high-pressure engine components. *** IF the complete F/W/S assy 03-40538-xxx that takes this filter has been changed previously to the complete F/W/S assy 03-44498-xxx, which requires filter# DDE A0000905251.*** Per Supplier Engineering - The new filter requires force to get into the newer housing with the black valve. The "pop" you hear confirms that the filter has sealed over the valve. Once the bowl is placed into the housing, there should be no movement of the filter.*** **When removing the bowl, it may require tool part # RAI RK61730 to be used to prevent damaging the bowl during this process.
