Freightliner R61709 is a heavy-duty fuel filter element for commercial diesel engines. With a precise 7-micron filtration rating, this replacement element traps microscopic contaminants, dirt, and other particulates before they can reach and damage sensitive fuel-injection components. Routine preventive maintenance with the R61709 7-micron filter ensures clean fuel delivery, optimizes engine performance, and helps prevent costly truck downtime from premature injector wear.


*** IF the complete F/W/S assy 03-40538-xxx that takes this filter has been changed previously to the complete F/W/S assy 03-44498-xxx, which requires filter# DDE A0000905251.

*** Per Supplier Engineering - The new filter requires force to get into the newer housing with the black valve. The "pop" you hear confirms that the filter has sealed over the valve. Once the bowl is placed into the housing, there should be no movement of the filter.

*** **When removing the bowl, use tool part # RAI RK61730 to prevent damage to the bowl during this process.
